I am a U.S. Citizen at birth.
I was born in Queens, in New York, the son of Ciro and Vera, who had migrated to America in the 1970s.
My birth forced my parents to return to Brazil, where I lived a happy childhood in Belo Horizonte, MG, with my cousins and siblings and watching games of the glorious Clube Atlético Mineiro, o Galo, Forte e Vingador, in the Mineirão stadium. My Family then decided to move to Vitória, capital of Espírito Santo, where I would graduate in Business and Law, and where I would meet the love of my life, Flávia. The job prospects weren’t promising when I left college, so for the first time, my father’s insistent advice for me to try a life in America started to seem like a good idea, until I made the decision that would change my life for good and migrate to the United States.
I arrived in Florida in 2005, I worked as a valet attendant and pizza delivery guy while Flávia worked in a beauty salon; I had to quit my job to dedicate myself exclusively to my Doctorate in Law, Juris Doctor, which I graduated in 2009, the following year I passed the Florida State Bar Association (BAR) exam; I decided to specialize in Immigration Law; and, so that I could get to know the system from the inside, I went to work for Customs and Border Protection at the Miami International Airport; then I transitioned to become an Asylum and Refugee Officer and finally an Immigration Prosecutor with ICE; my trajectory made me the only Brazilian American to have worked in the main immigration agencies in the United States.
Since then, I have represent large companies in the process of hiring and transferring qualified foreign employees; I also represent qualified and skilled individuals who, due to their high qualifications in their area of expertise, such as researchers, entrepreneurs, engineers, professionals in the health area, information technology, finance area, athletes and recognized artists, seek the visa of extraordinary abilities; and advise investors in their immigration processes, in addition to advising clients on the best strategies for obtaining a visa according to their specific needs.
